With great joy we are able to announce that Dr Miriam Tan is joining the Gore Street Medical Team. Miriam has a wealth of experience from working in rural areas and emergency settings. Miriam is a kind and compassionate GP full of respect for her patients and their choices and works towards a productive doctor-patient relationship. 

Having worked in rural areas as a GP and also in emergency setting Dr Tan is a calm and collected clinician able to manage a broad range of problems. Dr Tan believes in the importance of lifestyle modification for health and is open to reducing the need for pharmaceutical drugs with lifestyle modification and alternatives. 

Dr Miriam Tan obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) at the Flinders University of South Australia in 1998. She moved to Tasmania in 2000 and immediately loved the landscape and lifestyle. Miriam completed her Fellowship with the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in Hobart in 2004. Since then she has worked both in general practice and emergency medicine in Tasmania, interstate and in the UK. She has spent the past 5 years working as a locum doctor in rural GP surgeries and hospitals mostly in Tasmania.
