Dr Jasmina Dedic-Hagan

Prior to becoming a medical doctor, Jasmina completed a PhD in Molecular Biology, publishing her work on the genetics of cardiovascular disease and the regulation of gene expression. She is now applying her knowledge of genetics and biochemistry to her areas of interest which include gut health, autoimmune disease, endometriosis, PCOS, fertility, perimenopause / menopause, metabolic issues, cardiovascular disease and sports nutrition.

Jasmina focuses on the biochemically unique aspects of each patient and then tailors individual interventions to restore health. In addition to her training as an Australian General Practitoner, Jasmina is certified with the prestigious Institute of Functional Medicine in the US and is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine. Jasmina is bringing her expertise to Hobart after previously working in Sydney's northern beaches.

Lifestyle is a major contributor to the risk of chronic illness. Jasmina offers evidence-based nutrition, exercise and stress management advice. She is aware that applying this advice in real life can be very challenging and teams up with health coaches to offer personalised support.

 

Jasmina believes that patient education and empowerment are critical to long-term health and translates complex science into useful patient advice. Her emails emails are packed with practical advice and great resources – all tailored to your needs and circumstances.

 

Jasmina is a mother of 3 boys (2 of them teenagers!), understands the challenges of modern families and enjoys supporting them on their journey. She was once an elite alpine skier and is passionate about sports nutrition, fitness and outdoor activities. Jasmina is currently in Europe, gaining additional skills in Wilderness, Alpine and High Altitude medicine. Jasmina is currently completing a masters course in exercise and sports nutrition with the Institute of Performance Nutrition. Jasmina will be available for telehealth consults while she is spending some time in Europe prior to moving to Hobart later in 2023.

 

Unfortunately while she is overseas medicare rebates do not apply.
